Nokia will invest heavily in its retail channel expansion, marketing and new equipment to significantly boost its market share in India, according to the Economic Times of India.

India, with its large population, is expected to overtake China in a few years and thus become a key target for many handset makers. The recent goal is to become one of the country’s top five handset makers by the end of the year, HMD chief Executive Florian Saizy (Florianseiche) told the Economic Times, and it is easy to see Nokia’s confidence in the Indian market.
There are reports that 500 million of India has not yet upgraded to smartphone users, so Hmdglobal plans to launch a 4G feature handset in India in May in cooperation with a telecoms operator. This year in MWC debut Nokia 8Sirocco, Nokia 7Plus, the new Nokia 6 and Nokia 1 mobile phones, also become the main model of the Indian market.
