Solidium, a Finnish government investment agency, said it had bought a 3.3% per cent stake in Nokia to bolster Finland’s ownership of the telecoms network equipment manufacturer.

Solidium said the company bought the stakes in the open market in 2018 at a price of € 844 million (about $1.04 billion).
Antti Makinen, CEO of Makinnen, said in a statement: “The most attractive factor is the company’s strong market position and broad technical expertise.” This transaction is in line with the Government’s mandate and we will strengthen and stabilize our ownership of the company, which is very important to our country. ”
